Add Google Search Box in Thesis 2.0 Navigation

Recently I add more Thesis Theme 2.0 tutorials for Thesis Theme 2.0 users. This is another one tutorial for Thesis 2.0 users.

First create google custom search engine and install our google search box as per my previous post instruction. Click here to see my previous post.

In this post I am going to show you how to add Google Search Box in Thesis 2.0 Nav menu

Let’s see how to implement to your site.

It’s very simple procedure

  • After install our google search Box
  • Go to Thesis Skin Editor
  • Create one new container via Thesis Add Boxes section
  • Then add container below header
  • Then add nav menu and google search box to that container(refer below image)

  • Then click on our google search box and paste google search box code(refer below image)

  • Then save your template
  • Then go to CSS section
  • Then open menu package and go to additional css section
.menu {
    float: left;
    width: 600px;
}
#google_search {
    float: right;
    padding-right: 5px;
}
  • Then paste the following code(refer below image)
css menu
  • Then click on save button. Now your package saved
  • Then click on save css button.
  • That’s all. Now check your site navigation

    Hi,

    I tried this out, and the Search box isn’t showing up… It does leave a blank space floating right but no search box in it – could you take a look at saverocity.com and let me know what you think is missing to make it work?
